Terms of Service for Job Seekers (Workers)

Welcome to MicroJobs (https://microjobs.shop). This document constitutes a legally binding agreement between MyOwn Enterprise (“the Company”, “we,” us,” or “our”), an ACRA-registered entity in Singapore, and you, the individual registering as a job seeker or worker (“Worker”, “you”, or “your”).

By creating an account, applying for a micro-job, or utilizing any services on our platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use the platform.

1. Eligibility and Registration

  • To use our platform to browse and apply for micro-jobs, you must register for a Worker Account.
  • Age and Status Requirements: You must be at least 16 years of age and legally permitted to work or perform freelance assignments in Singapore.
  • You agree to provide true, accurate, current, and complete information during registration (such as your full legal name and contact information) and to maintain the accuracy of your profile details.
  • You are solely responsible for protecting your account login credentials. If you suspect any unauthorized access to your account, you must notify customer support immediately at frederick@microjobs.shop.

2. Identity Verification via Singpass Login

  • To maintain a secure and trustworthy community for both employers and workers, our platform utilizes the Singpass Login API provided by GovTech Singapore to authenticate your identity during registration or login.
  • We only utilize the Singpass Login API for secure identity authentication purposes. We do not use the Myinfo API; therefore, your background profile details or government records are not automatically imported. You must complete your user profile manually.

3. Worker Code of Conduct and Obligations

By applying for and accepting assignments on the platform, you agree to:

  • Perform the agreed-upon micro-jobs or tasks in a professional, timely, and diligent manner according to the specifications provided by the Employer.
  • Arrive on time for any scheduled shifts or tasks and communicate transparently with the Employer if an emergency arises.
  • Abide by the workplace safety, house rules, and reasonable operational guidelines set out by the Employer at their physical or digital work location.
  • Refrain from any fraudulent behavior, identity impersonation, or platform manipulation (e.g., allowing someone else to complete an assignment under your account).

4. Relationship of Parties

  • No Employment Relationship with the Company: MicroJobs acts strictly as a digital matching platform connecting independent workers with employers. The Company is not an employment agency, and your use of the platform does not establish an employer-employee relationship, joint employment, or agency relationship between you and MyOwn Enterprise.
  • Direct Engagement with Employers: Any contractual relationship, employment contract, or freelance task agreement is formed directly between you and the Employer who posted the listing. The Employer is solely responsible for payment, workplace safety, and giving clear instructions regarding the scope of work.

5. Fees and Payments

  • Platform Access: Access to browse and apply for basic micro-jobs as a worker is generally free of charge, unless specified under specialized premium tiers introduced on our platform.
  • Receiving Payments: Payment terms, hourly rates, or project-based milestones are set directly by the Employer in their job listing. You agree that the Company is not responsible for issuing your wages, CPF contributions, or statutory benefits.
  • Payment Disputes: If an Employer fails to pay you for a completed task, you must notify us via support, and we will review the matter in accordance with our platform moderation policies. However, the legal obligation to pay for your services rests entirely on the Employer.

6. Job Cancellations and No-Shows

  • Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel an accepted job assignment, you must do so within the designated time frame allowed by the platform to give the Employer sufficient notice to find a replacement.
  • No-Show Penalty: Failing to show up for an accepted micro-job without a valid, documented emergency or prior notice ("No-Show") hurts the platform community. We reserve the right to flag your profile, lower your platform rating, or suspend your account if you accumulate repeated no-shows or late cancellations.

7. Intellectual Property

  • All design elements, layout, text, code, software, graphics, and trademark logos of (https://microjobs.shop) belong exclusively to MyOwn Enterprise.

  • By filling out your profile, uploaded bio information, or portfolio data, you grant the Company a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display and host that information on our platform to help connect you with potential employers.

8. Limitation of Liability and Indemnity

  • The platform is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. We do not guarantee that your applications will result in employment or that employers will offer specific working environments or rates.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by Singapore law, MyOwn Enterprise shall not be liable for any personal injury, property damage, loss of income, or disputes arising out of your physical or digital interactions with Employers engaged through the platform.
  • You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MyOwn Enterprise from any claims, liabilities, damages, or costs arising out of your gross negligence, intentional misconduct, or breach of these terms during an active job assignment.

9. Account Suspension and Termination

  • You are free to close your Worker Account at any time by accessing your account settings or contacting customer support.
  • We reserve the right to temporarily suspend or permanently terminate your account without prior notice if we find that you have breached these Terms of Service, falsified your identity information, engaged in abusive behavior, or acted in a way that compromises the safety or integrity of the platform.

10. Governing Law

  • These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore.
  • Any legal disputes, claims, or proceedings arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
